IRCTC Introduces Whatsapp Online Food Delivery Facility for Passangers

New Delhi : Indian Railways PSU, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has launched e-Catering services through its e-Catering App Food on Track along with a specially developed website www.catering.irctc.co.in have started.

Taking a step forward towards making its e-catering services more customer-centric, Indian Railways has recently launched WhatsApp communication for railway passengers to order food through e-catering services. Business WhatsApp number +91-8750001323 has been started for this.

Initially, two phases of implementation of e-catering services through WhatsApp communication were planned. In the first step, the business WhatsApp number will send a message to the customer booking an e-ticket to select the e-catering services by clicking on the link www.ecatering.irctc.co.in.

With this option, customers will be able to book food of their choice from restaurants of their choice available at stations directly through IRCTC’s e-catering website without the need to download an app.

In the next phase of services, the WhatsApp number will be able to become an interactive two-way communication platform for the customer, wherein the AI ​​powered chatbot will answer all queries on e-catering services for passengers, as well as book meals for them.

Initially, WhatsApp communication has been implemented for e-catering services on select trains and passengers and based on customer feedback and suggestions, Indian Railways will implement it in other trains as well.

Currently, about 50,000 meals a day are being served to customers through IRCTC’s e-catering services, which are being enabled through its website as well as through the app.

Indian Railway earned Rs 1.35 Lakh Crores from Freight loading in this financial year till January 2023

New Delhi : Indian Railways’ freight revenue in the first 10 months of the financial year 2022-23 has increased over the same period last year.

During the period from April 2022 to January 2023, 1243.46 million tonnes of cargo was handled. During the same period last year, 1159.08 million tonnes of cargo was handled. This has increased the freight traffic by 7%. Similarly, freight revenue has increased to Rs 1,35,387 crore from Rs 1,17,212 crore in the previous year.

Similarly, cargo traffic increased from 129.12 million tonnes in January 2022 to 134.07 million tonnes in January 2023. This is a 4% increase over the previous year. Also, freight revenue increased from Rs 13,172 crore in January 2022 to Rs 14,709 crore in January 2023. This is a 13% increase over the previous year.

Indian Railways to introduce Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train under ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ Scheme

New Delhi : Indian Railways has come up with a very special tour Garvi Gujarat to showcase the cultural & Spiritual Heritage of Vibrant Gujarat State by running its Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train. This special tourist train, operated by IRCTC, will depart on 28th February from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on 8 days tour. Boarding & deboarding facility is provided at Gurugram, Rewari, Ringas, Phullera & Ajmer Railway Stations for convenience of tourists.

This train tour package has been designed on the lines of Govt. of India Scheme of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” conceptualized on the life of Great Freedom Fighter Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The first stoppage of this train tour package has been kept at Kevadiya wherein the Statue of Unity will be the centre of attraction. 36th International Surajkund Crafts Mela 2023 to be held from 3rd to 19th February 2023

Harayana : 36th International Surajkund Crafts Mela 2023 to be organized from 03 to 19 February, 2023 at Faridabad, Haryana. This year Eight North Eastern States are the Theme State of the Mela. NERAMAC and North NEHHDC are the nodal agencies who are setting up North Eastern Region Theme State pavilion. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan comments on Kerala Budget 2023-24

Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Budget 2023-24 is a strong intervention to positively overcome the financial hurdles created by the Central Government and take the state forward on the path of development.

Kerala’s economic growth reaching double digits indicates strong progress. Ours is the highest growth rate since 2012. Our agro-industrial sectors are on the steps of renaissance. The Finance Minister has presented a budget that will accelerate and give more impetus to this development journey.

Quality employment opportunities, emphasis on environment protection, infrastructure development and higher education along with science and technology sector are the hallmarks of this budget. The budget aims to make decentralization more effective and empower local self-government bodies. A comprehensive approach has been adopted in the budget to improve government services and extend the helping hand of the government to all sections and all sectors.

The budget has also sought ways of resource mobilization to enable development and all-round welfare of the people amidst difficulties and obstacles.

Efficiency in Tax Collection GST This translates into a 24 percent growth in revenue. Fiscal consolidation is evident in indices.

The budget proposals, including Rs 2,000 crore set aside to deal with price hikes and Rs 600 crore as subsidy to help rubber farmers neglected by the Centre, reflect the government’s determination to reduce the burden on people’s lives. The Global Expo has started in Kochi today (Saturday) to find a solution for waste management

Thiruvananthapuram : The three-day global expo organized by the Local Self-Government Department and the Sanitation Mission with the aim of making Kerala a completely waste-free state has started today (Saturday) at Ernakulam Marine Drive. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate at 10 am. Local Self-Government- Excise Department Minister M. B. Rajesh will preside. Opposition Leader VD Satheesan will deliver the keynote speech. Industries Minister P. Rajiv and German Consulate General Achim Burkart will be the chief guests.

Mayor M. Anilkumar, Highby Eden MP and MLAs T.J. Vinod, K.N. Unnikrishnan, K.J. Maxi, Uma Thomas, Zilla Panchayat President Ullas Thomas, Navkerala Karmapaddhati-2 Coordinator Dr. TN Seema, Chief Secretary VP Joy, Principal Secretary of Local Self-Government Department Dr. Sharmila Mary Joseph and others will also be present in the inauguration ceremony.

Ten representatives from all the local bodies of the state, including chairpersons, standing committee chairpersons and executive officers, will participate in the conference. ₹ 477.25 crore sanctioned to 133 incubators under the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS)

New Delhi : The Start-Up India Fund Scheme was implemented from 1st April 2021 under the Start-Up India initiative. Rs.477.25 crore has been allocated for 133 occupational health centers under this scheme. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Mr. Somprakash has said that Rs.211.63 crore has been released on December 31, 2022.

The flagship schemes under Startup India initiative namely, Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS), Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) and Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS) extend support to startups at various stages of their business cycle. The startups thereafter, are able to raise investments from angel investors or venture capitalists or seek loans from commercial banks or financial institutions.

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) has been approved with a corpus of Rs. 945 crore for the period of 4 years starting from 2021-22. Under SISFS, as per provisions of the Scheme, the Government has constituted an Experts Advisory Committee (EAC) which is responsible for the overall execution and monitoring of the SISFS. The EAC evaluates and selects incubators for allocation of funds under the Scheme. The selected incubators thereon shortlist the startups based on certain parameters outlined in Scheme guidelines.

The Government also implements flagship annual exercises and programs including States’ Startup Ranking, National Startup Awards and Innovation Week which play an important role in holistic development of the startup ecosystem. The Government through stakeholder consultations seeks regulatory and policy related recommendations for enhancing ease of doing business and reducing compliance burden for startup ecosystem. The Government also facilitates participation and engagement of Indian startup ecosystem at international platforms.

Automatic vehicle exports reports a growth of 35.9% from 2020-21 to 2021-22

New Delhi : Exports of automatic vehicles have increased and 41,34,047 vehicles were exported in the year 2020-21, registering a growth of 35.9 percent to 56,17,246 vehicles in the year 2021-22. 4,04,397 cars and all other passenger transport vehicles were exported in 2020-21, a growth of 42.9% to 5,77,875 passenger vehicles in 2021-22.

50,334 vehicles used for commercial purposes were exported in 2020-21, an increase of 83.36% to 92,297 commercial vehicles in 2021-22. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel gave this information while replying to a question in Parliament.

Out of the total vehicles exported in the year 2021-22, 9.89% of motor/cars were exported from the state of Haryana alone.

To promote the export of vehicles from India, the Central Government has implemented the following initiatives:

  • Foreign Trade Policy (2015-20) extended upto 31-03-2023.
  • Interest Equalization Scheme on pre and post shipment rupee export credit has also been extended upto 31-03-2024.
  • Assistance provided through several schemes to promote exports, namely, Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES) and Market Access Initiatives (MAI) Scheme.
  • Rebate of State and Central Levies and Taxes (RoSCTL) Scheme to promote labour-oriented sector export has been implemented since 07.03.2019.
  • Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme has been implemented since 01.01.2021. With effect from 15.12.2022, uncovered sectors like pharmaceuticals, organic and inorganic chemicals and article of iron and steel has been covered under RoDTEP. Similarly, anomalies in 432 tariff lines have been addressed and the corrected rates have been implemented with effect from 16.01.2023.
  • Common Digital Platform for Certificate of Origin has been launched to facilitate trade and increase Free Trade Agreement (FTA) utilization by exporters.
  • Districts as Export Hubs has been launched by identifying products with export potential in each district, addressing bottlenecks for exporting these products and supporting local exporters/manufacturers to generate employment in the district.
  • Active role of Indian missions abroad towards promoting India’s trade, tourism, technology and investment goals has been enhanced.

FCI Sold 9.2 LMT Wheat in just Two Days of E-auction

NEW DELHI : As recommended by the Committee of Ministers to deal with the rising prices of wheat and flour in the country, Food Corporation of India (FCI) has decided to sell Central Pool Wheat under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) on 1st and 2nd February 2023 in e-auction. Out of 25 Lakh MT wheat stock earmarked for e-auction of wheat through various routes, 22.0 Lakh MT wheat has been offered.

In the first week of e-auction, more than 1150 bidders participated and 9.2 Lakh MT wheat was sold across the country. Apart from this, the sale of wheat through e-auction will continue every Wednesday across the country till the second week of March 2023.

In the first week of e-auction, the maximum demand for wheat was in the range of 100 to 499 MT, followed by 500-1000 MT of wheat, followed by 50-100 MT of wheat, indicating that small and Medium flour millers and traders actively participated in the auction. Only 27 bids were received for a maximum quantity of 3000 MT at a time.

A weighted average rate of Rs.2474/- per quintal was issued by FCI in the auction and FCI earned Rs.2290 crore in the e-auction held in the first week of February.

3 Lakh MT wheat allotted to Government PSUs/Kendriya Bhandar, PSUs/Cooperatives/Federation like NCCF and NAFED for sale without e-auction at a concessional rate of Rs 2350 per quintal for making wheat flour. He offered flour to the public at the maximum retail price of 29.50 per kg. NCCF has been allocated 50000 MT of wheat for 7 states. To reduce the price of flour in the country, one lakh metric tonne wheat has been allocated to NAFED and Kendriya Bhandar under this scheme. Kendriya Bhandar has started a plan to sell flour under the above scheme. NAFED is also preparing to start this scheme in 8 states.

Due to e-auction, the market price of wheat has seen a decline of more than 10 percent during the last one week. After the offtake of wheat sold in the e-auction and availability of flour in the market, the prices are set to decline further.
